Golf
Plettenberg Bay Country Club
Plettenberg Bay Country Club has an 18-hole, par 72 golf course set in a private nature reserve. The highly rated course is a very popular tourist destination. The course is easy to walk, but golf carts are always available for the not so energetic. Lush Kikuyu grass fairways and bayview greens recently over-seeded to bent grass provides golfers with an excellent playing surface, with year round consistency on this parkland golf course. Despite intense competition from the beautiful white beaches and rolling surf, the club is busy and booking is essential. This is no little seaside golf course, all greens and bunkers are to USGA specifications and are on automatic sprinkler systems – the result is a golf course you will remember. The Parkland Course has no intrusive houses or traffic noise and is populated mainly with indigenous flora and fauna. The natural beauty of the course has been carefully retained. Monkeys, birdlife like the Knysna Loerie and woodpeckers as well as the occasional deer are more likely to put you off your game.
Visitors are always welcome and there are no restrictions, if in possession of valid handicap may book for Wednesday and Saturday competition days and ladies competitions on a Tuesday.
Goose Valley Golf Club
The Goose Valley Golf Club is situated in pristine surroundings, only 4km from Plettenberg Bay, bordering on the Keurbooms Lagoon. This magnificent golf estate offers a splendid Gary Player designed 72 par, 18-hole signature golf course in the heart of the Garden Route. Golfers will experience breathtaking views of the Keurbooms Lagoon, the Indian Ocean, the spectacular Tsitsikamma Mountains and the famous Robberg Peninsula. The beauty of the natural fynbos, indigenous trees and an abundance of animal and bird life add a special dimension to your golfing experience. The club house includes a spacious, elegant restaurant and bar with a delightful choice of light meals. The well-stocked pro-shop handles green fees, golf cart and golf club hire. You can expect a warm and friendly reception from a helpful team of staff members and teaching professionals. The golfing experience is further enhanced by a state-of-the-art driving range with practice chipping, putting and bunker play facilities. The unique positioning of the golf course on a sand dune allows for easy draining of the course and provides the perfect base for year round play, even after heavy rains on tees and greens. An excellent blend of indigenous and coniferous trees complements the picturesque views and water features to provide a challenge to golfers of all abilities.
Accommodation
Christiana Lodge
Christiana Lodge captures the spirit of the landscape surrounding it… the ocean, the beach, the wetland, the indigenous bush. The owners, siblings Philip and Christa Joubert’s main focus is to share their passion for and intimate knowledge of Plettenberg Bay and all it has to offer, with their guests. The design of the lodge, the size and layout of the rooms and bathrooms, the beds, the linen, every detail was planned to create a space that guests would return to again and again.
The Suites are a fusion of contemporary European and South African textures, colour and style – all combined to create a sense of the elementals and of summer – earth, air, warmth and light – with the whisper and smell of the ocean and the indigenous bush an ever-present back-drop.
Bosavern Guest House
Bosavern Guest House is a stylish, upmarket, 4 Star graded guesthouse set on a cliff, offering spectacular views of the ocean, the pristine white Robberg Beach and Robberg Nature Reserve, and the green expanse of Plett Country Club. Plettenberg Bay , referred by many as the paradise coast has it all. Sea, beaches, mountains, rivers and a balmy climate, combine this with an abundance of flora, fauna and a host of eco activities justifies it being called the jewel of the Garden route. Plettenberg Bay boasts three spectacular beaches that combined measure over 12 kilometers.
The 5 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms have private entrances and patios, TVs with M-Net, telephones, honesty bars, heaters and tea/coffee trays. Fine Percale cotton linen and Goose Down Duvet are fitted to all our extra king size double or twin beds.

My idea of a dream golfing getaway is to stay at a luxurious hotel, enjoying superb food and individual hospitality, all of which should be based around a really picturesque and challenging golf course. At Selborne, this dream comes true in every way. Selborne has established an international reputation and is now regarded as one of South Africa’s most sought-after golfing venues for tourists. The Selborne experience is shared with resident bush buck, grey duiker and the rare blue duiker. Monkeys and a myriad of birds take advantage of the natural habitat of the lush foliage, indigenous trees and stately palms that add an aura of grandeur to this well preserved and cared for environment. Golf Course
The golf course is a superb masterpiece affording golfers breathtaking scenery as they weave their way through manicured fairways and coastal forest. Created in 1985 when Denis Barker decided to turn his diary stud farm into a golf course, Selborne’s claim to having one of the premier championship golf courses in the country is well justified when you consider the amount of both professional and amateur golfers from around the world who return every year for the pleasure it gives them. One must also not forget that Selborne is situated on South Africa’s “Golf Coast”. Within an hour’s drive of Selborne are a number of other top golf courses – 11 of them in Golf Digest’s top 100 courses. In terms of the ultimate golfing experience, Selborne is the recipient of Complete Golfer’s Five-star Golf Experience Award; based on service excellence, top-class clubhouse facilities, golf course conditioning and last but not least the overall lingering experience. Selborne Country Club and Golf Course is rated independently by GOLF DIGEST magazine as a top 100 South African golf course.

1 x 50 minute Hydro Session
Golf Course
The challenging 9-hole links golf course winds its way through the lush peninsula. Many links – though not all – are located in coastal areas, on sandy soil, often amid dunes, with few water hazards and few if any trees. This reflects both the nature of the scenery where the sport happened to originate, and the fact that only limited resources were available to golf course architects at the time and any earth moving had to be done by hand, so it was kept to a minimum.
The challenges of links golf fall into two categories; Firstly the nature of the courses themselves, which tend to be characterised by uneven fairways, thick rough and small deep bunkers known as “pot bunkers”. Secondly, due to their coastal location many links courses are frequently windy. This affects the style of play required, favouring players who are able to play low accurate shots.
Accommodation
This exclusive West Coast getaway offers 86 elegantly decorated rooms, and in each the emphasis is on elegance, privacy and comfort. You will enjoy state-of-the-art facilities and tasteful decor, backed up by the space and comfort of a lounge, kitchenette and designer bathroom. Crisp linen, the fluffiest towels, as well as satellite TV and remote-controlled air-conditioning mean you won’t even have to leave the sanctity of your suite unless you really want to.
